RYA Coastal Skipper Practical
The five-day RYA Coastal Skipper Practical course is both intensive and rewarding, designed to equip students with the necessary skills and techniques to safely skipper a cruising motorboat on coastal and offshore passages, during both day and night hours.
Aimed at existing skippers, students are expected to have boat handling expertise equivalent to the RYA Day Skipper Practical qualification.
What to Expect- A rewarding week on the water
- Completion of 200-300 sea miles, including a minimum of 2 passages over 60 miles and 16 night hours
- Gain confidence and accreditation to skipper your own or a charter boat by day and night
- Deepening your knowledge of passage planning, day and night pilotage, boat handling, safety and emergency situations

Prerequisites
- Minimum age of 17 years
- 15 days, 2 days as skipper, 300 miles, 8 night hours.
- Boat handling to the standard of the Day Skipper Practical Motor cruising course.
- Navigation to the standard of the Coastal Skipper & Yachtmaster Offshore Theory
Accommodation is not provided on the boat during the course and must be arranged beforehand. However, lunches are included in the course cost, we strive to accommodate individual dietary requirements to the best of our ability.
