RYA Start Motor Cruising
New to motor boats and curious to learn more? Join our one-day RYA Start Motor Cruising course, the perfect introduction to the world of motor cruising.
Designed as the entry-level course for motor cruising, offering a brief yet comprehensive overview of the fundamentals of motor boating in a safe and supportive environment.
Upon successful completion, all candidates will receive certification (candidates under 16 will receive an endorsed certificate).
What will I learn?During this course, you’ll have the opportunity to steer a motorboat, practice boat handling techniques, learn essential rope work skills, and gain a solid understanding of onboard safety procedures.
You can choose to take the course either on one of our motorboats or on your own boat, whichever you prefer. Our friendly and highly experienced trainers will guide you through the day, helping you build confidence and enjoy your introduction to motor boating.
Yes! If you find this introductory course enjoyable and wish to expand your skills, there is the opportunity to progress to the RYA Helmsman course which will further develop your abilities to become a competent motor boat skipper.
