The five-day RYA Coastal Skipper Practical course is both intensive and rewarding, designed to equip students with the necessary skills and techniques to safely skipper a cruising motorboat on coastal and offshore passages, during both day and night hours.

Aimed at existing skippers, students are expected to have boat handling expertise equivalent to the RYA Day Skipper Practical qualification.

What to Expect

A rewarding week on the water
Completion of 200-300 sea miles, including a minimum of 2 passages over 60 miles and 16 night hours
Gain confidence and accreditation to skipper your own or a charter boat by day and night
Deepening your knowledge of passage planning, day and night pilotage, boat handling, safety and emergency situations
