RYA Day Skipper Practical

Experience the thrill of navigation, pilotage, boat handling, seamanship, and safety on board our motorboat with our four-day RYA Day Skipper Practical Course.

Focusing on how to skipper a motorboat on a short passage, students will complete a minimum of 100 sea miles and 4 night hours and plan a passage, under the guidance and support from our expert instructor.

Not only will this add valuable experience to any log book, but students will gain the confidence and skills to skipper their own boat by day and, whatever the weather, we guarantee a rewarding, fun week on the water!

Prerequisites

Minimum age 16 years
Basic navigation and helmsmanship.
It is recommended that you attend the RYA Day Skipper Theory Shorebased Course before taking this practical course to enhance your navigation knowledge, or have the equivalent knowledge.

Pre-course experience

2 days on a motor cruiser.

Accommodation is not provided on the boat during the course and must be arranged beforehand. However, lunches are included in the course cost, and we strive to accommodate individual dietary requirements to the best of our ability.
